Get started building your WordPress website from the beginning. In just a few steps you can have a WordPress website ready to be customized and connected to your LimeLight platform!
You will need to determine your domain and web hosting. The domain will be your website url – for example mysitename.com. The Host will connect your site to the Internet.
WordPress itself is free. There are several domain name and hosting options out there. You can find free options, but you will give up some flexibility, for example your domain name will probably have to contain the host name (like yourbusiness.my-free-website.com). Otherwise you can choose one of the paid options for a small monthly fee, generally around $3 – $7 dollars.
Once you have decided on a hosting service, you will need to sign up and register your domain.
Next you will need a theme for your site. We recommend using a Bootstrap 4 theme. Bootstrap 4 themes can be found by clicking here
ou can search for WordPress approved themes. Search for a premium theme by clicking ‘Premium Themes’ or search for a free theme by clicking ‘WordPress.org Themes.’ For our recommended list of themes that work well with the LimeLight Storefront plugin, check out this article
You can upload a custom theme that you have created or purchased. To upload a custom theme .zip file that is not in the WordPress approved theme list, click Appearance, click Add New theme > Upload Theme > Choose File > Select .zip file > Install Now
Once the file is successfully installed, click Activate. You are now able to customize your installed theme.
We have created a LimeLight theme that you can use. It is a custom theme, so if you choose to use it please follow the steps outlined above to upload the theme.
Install the LimeLight Storefront Plug In. Information on the setup and Installation of the LimeLight Storefront plug in can be found by clicking here
Upon successful activation, a menu item is created on the left panel called LimeLight Storefront. Within the LimeLight Storefront menu will be several sub-menus to help you link your LimeLight platform to the Storefront.
To start off, you should already have configured your Campaign, Billing Model & Offers in your Limelight CRM. You will also need to configure an API user in the with proper permissions, and access to the necessary API methods (See API Configuration). Once you have everything setup in your CRM, the next step will be validating your credentials and then importing the desired campaign into your WordPress site. Then you can start editing and uploading images to the imported data. For a detailed walk-through of the next steps, see Limelight-Storefront Configuration & Settings.
Storefront connects to LimeLight via API. Once you input your API credentials and import the campaign and offer into the WordPress plugin, the plugin will generate all of the pages needed for your site to create prospects, members, new orders and subscriptions. In addition, our Value Added Services are easily integrated with just a few clicks.
Once the pages are generated, you’ll want to add some content to the pages with product photos and any upsells you’ll be offering to fully tailor it to your campaign. Now you’re all set! Once that campaign is over, just update your settings, import the new campaign and offer and new pages will be generated with the details that are ready to be tailored to the campaign.
Launch Your Site
Once you have completed your LimeLight Storefront setup & theme customization you are ready for the world to see your site!
